A Civil Society Organisation, the Progressive Supporters (PS) has called for the investigation of some key officials, who served as aides of former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki over the $2.1B arms deal case.
The former NSA is standing trial before an Abuja High Court over alleged complicity in the case.
The group in an open letter to President Mohammadu Buhari, signed by S.I Muhammed and Sahabi Sami, noted that it was not only Dasuki that should be tried, since he was not the only one fingered in the alleged crime.
The group however noted that asides Dasuki, other key people that should be tried have gone into exile and the Federal Government, if really, is serious about the fight against corruption should fish them out for trial.
The group noted that prominent among who the anti corruption fight of the government should go after are Col. Bello Fadile and retired Major General Bello Sarkiyandi, who was the former Senior Special Adviser to the President on counter terrorism in the office of NSA.
The group had copied the letter to the SGF, AGF, SA, DSS, CJN, Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, EFCC and PCA.
The letter reads in part, “It is our desire not only to put Your Excellency on notice so that your eyes will see beyond the veil cast by some individuals that are vindictive to your programmes within the government, but we are also fully prepared to provide details of those individuals.
“We have seen something going on as a group that some people are sabotaging the anti corruption fight of President Muhammadu Buhari.
“We all know that it is not only Sambo Dasuki, Raymond Dokpesi, Bello Haliru benefitted to the $2.1b Dasukigate.
“There are so many people that are beneficiaries of this $2.1b Dasukigate. We are drawing the attention of the FG to re-visit the investigation of the panel that investigate the spending of the said money and bring those that are involved to book.
“We are not saying the FG and EFCC are not doing well they are doing fantastically well and it has been acknowleged by the world over but there are certain people that were part and parcel of the former office NSA and they were not mention at all.
“Some of them are on exile and some of them cannot be found anywhere. We are drawing the attention of FG to please look critically into the office of the NSA and bring those that are yet to be brought to book so that Nigerians can continue to have confidence in this fight against corruption”, the group stated.
