Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode is of the opinion no one is safe in Nigeria any longer due to the activities of bloodsucking Fulani herdsmen who kill with impunity.
The officer identified as Sheu Magu, was reportedly killed by the Fulani herdsmen in Saki town, Oke-Ogun area of the state on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, after he and members of his team were attacked while they had responded to distress calls over the activities of the marauders.
The deceased was said to have died as a result of machete injuries sustained in the hands of the herdsmen during an operation in a forest in the area.
According to residents in the area, the Fulani herdsmen had been constituting a law onto themselves, robbing the people, raping their women, destroying their farmlands and daring anyone to challenge them since they were always with their AK 47 rifles.
On the day of the incident, Magu had led his team to the forest to disarm the rampaging herdsmen who had gone on one of their unwarranted attacks when they were ambushed and attacked.Reacting to the gruesome murder of the police officer, Fani-Kayode said law and order have broken down in the country as no one was safe, even security agents, from Fulani herdsmen whom he described as ‘bloodsucking’.
The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), chieftain who tweeted about the incident on his official Twitter page, wrote:
“A SARS police officer was cut into tiny pieces with matchets by Fulani terrorists in Saki, Oyo State yesterday.
Law and order have broken down and even our security agents are being targeted and slaughtered in open daylight by these bloodthirsty and bloodsucking Fulani herdsmen.”
