An ICT systems solutions provider, Seagule Global Resources Limited, based in Abuja has offered to partner with the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), to create virtual systems for residents of the FCT to purchase essentials without leaving their homes or going to crowded malls and stores, with risk of contracting the deadly Corona Virus.
Speaking with newsmen in Abuja the CEO Mr. Benedict Aguele, made “an open ended offer to the FCTA and the minister to partner with an experienced local solutions provider in the ICT sector to allay the fears of the people”.
He further reiterated that their “solution proverbially ‘kills two birds with one stone’, by helping government limit the spread of the deadly virus, while also helping people to meet their needs for daily domestic essentials from the comfort of their homes”.
He explained that the system would involve setting up virtual pickup and delivery locations in parts of the FCT to facilitate the movement of these essentials to different parts of the city and environs within minutes of making their orders.
Mr. Aguele noted that “this challenge, which has spread across the world at unprecedented speed and reach, shows how very interconnected we are as a people”, arguing that if it is to be defeated it will require a collective effort of all nations.
He also urged citizens and other stakeholders in the country, including the private sector, to cooperate with the government to help the country beat this pandemic, in order for Nigeria and humanity as a whole to come out better prepared to be their brothers’ keepers.
