As part of safety measures to help curb the spread of the coronavirus in the country, the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), has suspended movie shoots for a couple of weeks starting from March 27 to April 17, 2020.
TAMPAN president, Bolaji Amusan, better known as Mr Latin, made this announcement while addressing Nollywood actors on the coronavirus pandemic.
In a video shared on social media through his Instagram page on Tuesday, Mr Latin said that their job as movie makers makes it near impossible for them to practice social distancing because there is a lot of contact on set.
Amusan, however, noted that in compliance with the World Health Organization’s social distancing safety measure, there would be no more filming of movies with effect from March 27 to April 17.
He further stressed on sanctions to be meted on anyone who disobeys the directive, adding that they would be kicked out of TAMPAN.
