A mild drama ensued this morning at the Mogadishu Cantonment flyover when a detachment of the Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police arrested and detained a Police vehicle driving against the traffic.
The ever busy Abuja-Keffi expressway is reputed for notorious traffic gridlock causing untold hardship on commuters who brace through for hours to get across from Mararaba and other Satellite towns to the FCT a journey normally that should take between ten to fifteen minutes.
It has become a common sight for security vehicles to blare sirens while driving in opposing direction whenever traffic is heavy.
The Police vehicle belonging to the FCT Command was later released after much plea from the officers involved.
Commuters close to the scene applauded the actions of the military saying the recklessness some of these security operatives employ to beat traffic posses a lot of danger to other road users.
