Senior military officers from the prestigious UK Royal College of Defence Studies yesterday, arrived Nigeria to examine from a strategic perspective, the current position and future prospects for the preservation and enhancement of security, stability and prosperity of Nigeria and the West African region.

A statement issued yesterday, and signed by the press and public affairs officer, British High Commission, Joe Abuku said the visit was part of a West Africa security study tour.

The statement said the senior military officers will also use the opportunity to have a feel of Nigerian culture.

The statement reads in part: ‘’A group of 19 senior military officers and civil servants from the world renowned United Kingdom Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS), which has former Nigerian president, Olusegun Obasanjo amongst its prestigious alumni, have arrived Nigeria on the first leg of their West African Study Tour.

‘’They will also visit Sierra Leone and Senegal subsequently. The group includes representatives from across the UK, Europe as well as Afghanistan, Vietnam, Burma and Malaysia to name a few.
