Kenneth Okonkwo: APC Will Be Shocked by Coalition’s Strength In 2027

Kenneth Okonkwo, the former spokesperson for the Labour Party (LP) Presidential Campaign Council, has stated his belief that President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be defeated in the general elections of 2027 by a group of well-known politicians.

Speaking in an interview with Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Okonkwo disclosed that the alliance, which consists of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and other major figures, has the framework and plan to win.

“Please be aware that I am a member of the coalition. A lot of people are unaware of this coalition’s engine room, but I can tell you about it. By 2027, the APC won’t know what hit them,” Okonkwo stated.

Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, has denied rumors that the coalition has submitted an application to register the All Democratic Alliance (ADA) as a new political party with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Keyamo called the move “exaggerated and lacking in political weight” in a June 20, 2025, tweet. He maintained that the claimed merger does not involve any recognized political parties, in contrast to the APC’s creation in 2013. He asserts that the organization supporting ADA’s registration is made up of a small number of people exercising their constitutional rights; this is not the same as a formal coalition or party merger.
