2019 Eid-El-Fitr: What Buratai told troops of Operation Hadarin Daji

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai as a routine has paid an operational visit to troops of 1 brigade Nigerian Army and Operation Hadarin Daji, fighting armed banditry in Nigeria’s Northwest region.

Represented by the Chief of Training and Operations Army, Maj. Gen. Lamidi Adeosun, the COAS commenced the visit with an Eid prayer with troops at the Force Headquarters, Operation Sharan Daji in Zamfara State.

The Chief Imam of 1 Brigade, Capt A Kado also offered prayers for the protection and victory of the Chief of Army Staff, Officers and Soldiers of the  Nigerian Army as well as the entire people of Nigeria.

Adeosun and his entourage later paid an Operational Visit to front line troops deployed at Kauran Namoda in Zamfara State.

Gen. Adeosun was warmly received  by the troops who displayed gallantry and high morale.

He later delivered the goodwill message of Gen Buratai to the troops stating that the primary aim that motivated soldiers to enlist into the army is to defend the integrity of the country.

He urged them to maximize the present onslaught against armed bandits to enable the troops record a timely defeat of the criminal elements.

“I want to use this medium to appreciate the doggedness and resilience of all Nigerian Army officers and soldiers in confronting the various security challenges bedevilling our dear country. 

“Worthy of commendation is the professional conduct of troops in the dislodgement of Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) elements from Nigeria’s territory to the fringes of the Lake Chad Basin”. 

The COAS charged the troops not to be distracted but ensure they defeat the bandits in no distant time.

Representative of the Chief of Army Staff and his entourage later paid a courtesy visit to the newly inaugurated Governor of Zamfara State, Hon. Dr. Mohammed Bello where he was received by top government functionaries of the State.

Gen. Adeosun further delivered the good will message of the COAS while thanking the state government for their support in curbing the menace of banditry which once ravaged the State.

Responding to the gesture, Gov Mohammed Bello showered encomiums on the Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai for his commitment and passion to pursue and promote peace in Nigeria.

“I want to thank the Nigerian Army under the pragmatic guide of Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai for ensuring peace in our beloved country.

” The leadership style of Gen Buratai is second to none and his commitment is worthy of emulation” he maintained.

Gov Mohammed also promised to provide the needed logistics in support of troops fighting armed bandits in the State while soliciting for more manpower.

High point of the event was the hosting of a Sallah Day Luncheon for troops of 1 Brigade Nigerian Army by the COAS.

The event had in attendance Principal Staff Officers from 8 Division Headquarters,  the Commander Operation HADARIN DAJI Maj Gen JJ Ogunlade, Commander 1 Brigade, Brigadier Gen LKN Udeagbala among others.
