2023: Okowa rules out Peter Obi, says time’ll come for Igbo presidency
GOVERNOR Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has ruled out a President of Igbo extraction in 2023.
The People’s Democratic Party’s vice-presidential candidate, who spoke this evening during an interview on Channels TV, has consequently written off the chances of Labour Party’s Peter Obi.
According to Okowa, the “time for an Igbo President will come”.
The governor, who described himself as an Igbo man, believes that the South-East potentially stands a chance after Atiku Abubakar’s tenure.
Okowa, however, admitted that like the South-East, Atiku’s North-East zone deserves a shot at the presidency.
