Burna Boy bags BET Hip Hop Awards nod

Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, has bagged a nomination at the BET HIP HOP AWARDS 2022.

The self-proclaimed ‘African Giant’ was nominated for ‘Video Director Of The Year’ for his directorial debut ‘Last Last’ music video.

He will contest the category with the likes of American rapper, Kendrick Lamar, Teyana Taylor, Benny Boom, Cole Bennett, Colin Tilley, and Director X.

Ghanaian youngster, Black Sheriff, was also nominated in the ‘Best International Flow’ category alongside South Africa’s Blxckie, Britain’s Central Cee, Zimbabwe’s Nadia Nakai, and France’s Le Juiice among others.

Canadian rapper, Drake leads the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards with 14 nominations, followed by Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar with 10 and 9 nominations respectively.

The 17th annual BET HIP HOP AWARDS 2022 will hold at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, GA, on Friday, September 30 and will premiere Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at 9 PM ET/PT on BET.

The award show will be hosted by Grammy-nominated recording artist, actor, entrepreneur, and media personality, Fat Joe.
