Ice Prince breaks silence following release from prison

Popular Nigerian rapper, Ice Prince Zamani has finally broken his silence following his release from prison.

The rapper had been arrested for abduction and assaulting a Police officer on Friday, September 2.

The Jos-born star was arraigned to a magistrate court and remanded in prison.

The ‘Oleku’ crooner was arraigned before the court by the Lagos State Police Command on Friday on a three-count charge of assault, obstructing a policeman from carrying out his statutory duties and abduction.

When the counts were read to him, the defendant pleaded not guilty. Magistrate Taiwo Oyaniyi subsequently granted him bail in the sum of N500,000. He was also to furnish the court with 2 responsible sureties.

Pending when he meets the bail conditions, the magistrate ordered his remand and adjourned further proceedings in the case till September 7.

In an update to it, TNN reported that Ice Prince had been granted bail.

His lawyer, Folarin Dalmeida said Ice Prince was released from the Nigerian correctional centre in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Thursday.

Speaking out for the first time, Ice Prince took to his Twitter page to write on the importance of freedom.

According to him, freedom is priceless.

“Freedom is priceless,” he tweeted.
