Real Madrid star donates N13.3m toilet facility to Ogun community
Real Madrid midfielder, David Alaba, has donated an ultra-modern bio-degradable toilet facility to Kara Market, Ogere Remo, Ogun State.
The former Bayern Munich player and his foundation made the donation of the N13.3 million facility in in collaboration with Organised Private Sector in Water Sanitation and Hygiene(OPS- WASH), Clean Nigeria Campaign (CNC) and Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM).
The Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu, who commissioned the toilet urged other Nigerians in the diaspora to emulate Alaba’s patriotic gesture.
The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, disclosed this on Saturday via her Twitter page.
According to her, the player is also planning a football training centre in Nigeria.
She wrote, “A big thanks for the facility donated by the David Alaba Foundation at Kara Market, Ogere Remo, Ogun State to support FGNs move to end open defecation.David is also planning a football training centre in Nigeria.”
Despite playing his international football for Austria, David Alaba has Nigerian roots through his parents.
His father, George Alaba hails from Ogun State.
