World Athletics finally ratifies Amusan’s hurdles record

Tobi Amusan’s 12. 12secs in the semifinal of the Women’s world 100m hurdles at the 2022 World Championships in Oregon, United States, has been duly ratified by the World Athletics as a World Record in the women’s 100m Hurdles.


She is now officially confirmed as the 1st Nigerian athlete to hold a World record.


Amusan’ feat was ratified as the world record alongside Men’s world pole vault record 6.21m Mondo Duplantis of Sweden.


Other WRs ratified by World Athletics: 9.94s (world U20 100m record) @LetsileTebogo2 🇧🇼, which he ran at the World Champs in Eugene (9.91s from Cali is not yet ratified). Mondo Duplantis’ 🇸🇪 6.21m men’s Pole Vault WR & two 400mH WRs from Sydney McLaughlin 🇺🇸 50.68s & 51.41s.
