The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be without captain Ahmed Musa and his assistant, William Troost-Ekong, when they lock horns with their Algerian counterparts in an exhibition game on Tuesday.
Musa who was named in the initial list for the friendly match against the North Africans was excused from the squad after picking an injury while playing for his club.
In his absence, Troost-Ekong led the Eagles in their 2-2 stalemate with Algeria’s Team B on Friday.
The Watford defender was substituted after picking up an injury during the test game.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed the injury on the Super Eagles Twitter handle.
“William Troost-Ekong has left the camp as a result of an injury cropped during the test game yesterday. He is back to base for further checks. Wishing you a speedy recovery Ekong,” reads a tweet on the Super Eagles Twitter handle.
Ekong’s injury came days after Leicester City midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi departed the Super Eagles’ camp after picking an injury during training.
The three-times-African champions will take on the Desert Foxes of Algeria at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium, Oran on Tuesday.
