Gunmen suspected to be political thugs invaded a Labour Party meeting in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State.
The gunmen numbering about four stormed the venue of the meeting at Nomeh Primary School Station and started shooting sporadically.
The development led the members to scamper to safety.
TNN gathered that the incident happened on Saturday, barely a few days after thugs disrupted Labour Party meetings in in Aninri and Awgu local government areas.
The state chairman of Labour Party, Mr Casmir Agbo who confirmed the attack to journalists on Monday, said members were attacked by gunmen wielding AK-47 rifles.
“Yes, our members were attacked by gunmen wielding AK-47 rifles in Nomeh Primary School Station on Saturday. But I can’t provide the details now. I am somewhere and will provide details to later,” he said.
