Aribo scores, Iwobi assists as Everton pip Southampton 2-1

Super Eagles midfielders, Alex Iwobi and Joe Aribo were on either side as Everton came from a goal down to snatch a second consecutive league win with a 2-1 victory over Southampton on Saturday.

Aribo broke the deadlock in the 49th minute to give the hosts the lead at St. Mary’s Stadium.

Everton responded almost immediately with Conor Coady’s close-range goal.

The Frank Lampard’s men took the lead two minutes later after Iwobi set up Dwight McNeil.

The Toffees came into the came from a narrow home victory over West Ham before the international break.

In the other Saturday’s premier league fixtures, Arsenal thumped Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 in the North London derby; AFC Bournemouth held Brentford to a goalless draw; Chelsea pipped Crystal Palace 2-1; Newcastle thrashed Fulham 4-1, and Brighton held Liverpool to stalemate.
