Rihanna appreciates Tems for writing her latest song ‘Lift me up’
American-Barbadian superstar, Rihanna has thumbed up talented Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, for co-writing her latest song, ‘Lift me up’.
The multiple Grammy-award-winning singer made her return to music after six with a tributary song for the late ‘Black Panther’ actor, Chadwick Boseman.
The single ‘Lift Me Up’ was written as a tribute to the extraordinary life and legacy of Chadwick Boseman by Tems, Oscar winner Ludwig Göransson, Rihanna and Ryan Coogler.
The song was produced by Ludwig Göransson, and director Ryan Coogler.
‘Lift me up’ was released this Friday, Friday, October 28th via Rihanna’s own Westbury Road label in partnership with Roc Nation, Def Jam Recordings, and Hollywood Records.
Following the release, Tems took to her Instagram page to relish working with the iconic Rihanna.
She wrote: “Blessed to have written this song in honour of Chadwick Boseman and even more blessed to hear the baddest @badgalriri voice it to perfection”.
Taking the comment section of Tems’ post, Rihanna wrote; “It’s the pen for me 💪🏿❤️🙏🏿 love to you sisren.”
