Air Force neutralise bandits, destroy camps in Kaduna

The Nigerian Air Force has neutralized several bandits as aerial patrols were conducted over identified bandit enclaves across flash points in some local government areas of Kaduna.

This was confirmed by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, noting that details of the missions were revealed via operational feedback to the state government.

Aruwan explained that the air strikes were conducted in Kawara area of Igabi Local Government Area in identified bandits’ locations.

According to him, “Three bandits were confirmed neutralized by the strike, and some kidnapped victims were thus able to escape from the general area, as was later confirmed by credible human intelligence sources on the ground.”

“Similarly, in Walawa, Giwa Local Government Area, an active location was targeted and struck successfully. In Chikun Local Government Area, armed surveillance was carried out over Faka, Kangon Kadi, Damba, Ungwan Turai, Galbi, Gwagwada and the environs. Terrorists were sighted about 4km Northwest of Godani, and were neutralized”.

The commissioner added that in Kuduru, an active terrorists’ location was sighted and struck with rockets, noting that in Igabi Local Government Area, operations were conducted over Riyawa, Alhaji Isiaka, Rima, Riyawa, Rumana, Ungwan Liman, Mai Gishiri and the Kaduna Airport area with no significant activity noticed.

He further said a similar situation occurred in Sabon Birnin, Anaba, Malumi, Wusono and Kerawa.
