Gov Abiodun presents N472b 2023 budget to Ogun State Assembly
Governor Dapo Abiodun has presented the 2023 budget to the Ogun State House of Assembly at a session presided over by the Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo.
While presenting the budget on Thursday, Governor Abiodun revealed that a total expenditure of N472.25 billion has been proposed for next year.
The governor explained that N201.84 billion has been proposed as recurrent expenditure, while N270.41 billion is being budgeted as capital expenditure.
He further pegged personnel costs at N79.47 billion; social contribution and social benefits at N21.12 billion; public debt charge at N39.90 billion; overhead cost at N61.35 billion; while capital expenditure is N270.41billion.
Governor Abiodun further urged the leadership of the State House of Assembly to ensure that the budget is thoroughly, but expeditiously evaluated and returned in good faith for his assent.
According to him, the entire components of the bill originated from the wishes expressed by the people of the state at the different Budget Town Hall meetings earlier held.
He, therefore, appealed “I will appreciate, if we maintain our set standard of signing the Appropriation Law before 1st of January of the incoming year”.
