Arsenal prodigy Bukayo Saka scored twice as England pummeled Iran 6-2 in their Group B opener at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The match was played at the Khalifa International Stadium, Doha, on Monday.
Jude Bellingham broke the deadlock for the Three Lions in the 35th minute. Saka then scored his first for the day eight minutes later.
Raheem Sterling made it 3-0 just before halftime.
Saka completed his brace after the resumption of play, doing so in the 62nd minute.
Mehdi Taremi pulled one back for Iran three minutes later.
However, Marcus Rashford restored England’s three-goal lead in the 71st minute.
Jack Grealish extended the Three Lions’ lead with a brilliant goal in the 89th minute.
Taremi, again reduced the deficit for Iran from the spot in injury time to make it 6-2.
Meanwhile, Ecuador defeated the host, Qatar 2-0 in the opening game of the tournament on Sunday.
