World Cup: Tunisia hold Denmark to goalless draw
One of the five African representatives at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Tunisia held Denmark to a stalemate in their opening Group D game on Tuesday.
The North Africans put on a good defensive shift to ensure they get a point in their tournament opener.
Denmark dominated the game but failed to take their scoring chances and Tunisia punished them by forcing the match to end in a goalless draw at the Education City Stadium.
Tunisia is the first African side to pick up a point at the 2022 World Cup as Senegal lost their opening Group A to the Netherlands on Monday. The other African reps, Morocco, Ghana and Cameroon are yet to commence their campaign at the tournament.
Earlier in Tuesday’s Group C match, minnows, Saudi Arabia defeated Lionel Messi’s Argentina 2-1 in one of the biggest shocks in the cup’s history.
