FCTA reassures residents of their safety
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has reassured residents of the safety of their lives and property.
A statement issued on Friday by the Director of Information, Muhammad Sule, said the FCT Security Committee met on Thursday, after which residents were assured that adequate security arrangements have been made to sustain the state of law and order.
The committee assured that everything possible is being done to checkmate the activities of criminally minded persons.
Sule revealed that the committee discussed kidnappings in rural areas of the territory including the Yaba axis in the Abaji Area Council, noting that the security agencies have adopted proactive measures to fish out the perpetrators.
He also disclosed that the Directorate of Road Traffic Service (DRTS) gave an update on the ban on commercial motorcycles in Abuja.
The DRTS explained that on November 16, about 118 commercial motorcycles which were impounded were crushed in Durumi District, adding that 300 additional ones impounded were also crushed at Area 1 under the bridge, totaling 418.
The committee also urged the residents to cooperate with the security agencies by volunteering information about criminals.
