A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC), Jimoh Babafemi, has said that the party will record a landslide victory at the 2023 presidential election, considering the presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu’s accomplishments and leadership capacity.

Babafemi disclosed this to journalists over the weekend in Lagos, noting that the massive support being enjoyed by the party is an indication of its victory in the 2023 general election.

He noted that Tinubu had a track record of unprecedented accomplishments during his days as the governor of Lagos State to show for his bid to succeed President Muhamadu Buhari, stressing that Tinubu is the most acceptable among the presidential candidates for 2023, having built bridges across the country’s geo-political zones as well as building people.

“Tinubu has built an empire out of many Nigerians who crossed paths with him ever since his foray into public office and these accomplishments would count for him in 2023.”

The APC Chieftain added “He has paid his dues as a democrat and leader. Tinubu is running against other candidates because some of these Nigerians and many others, who believe in his vision for a better Nigeria, are today mostly his foot soldiers, campaigning for him across the federation”.

He also noted that all presidential aspirants and their supporters that contested and lost the party’s ticket to Tinubu had gone cold except those that campaigned for the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan and his supporters.

He listed Lawan supporters to include the Chief Whip of the Senate, Orji Kalu, Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, Senator Sani Musa, Senator Jubril Barau, and Femi Fani-Kayode, among others.

While frowning over the attitudes of some party chieftains who he said are still not happy with Tinubu’s emergence at the presidential primary, Babafemi commended Lawan and the group for their efforts in campaigning and mobilising for Tinubu.

“They are working hard for Tinubu and the APC like they are doing it for Lawan. These people are patriotic chieftains of the APC. Others have suddenly gone cold after losing the primary. They are non-committal to the presidential ambition of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

“The current Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, on national television even refused to openly support Tinubu. We have not heard from Amaechi’s people, Osinbajo’s team and so many others.”

“They suddenly went cold without doing much. I sincerely commend distinguished Senator Ahmad Lawan and his group for showing and proving to be solid party chieftains by spearheading the campaign of Bola Ahmed Tinubu across Nigeria”.
