PDP appoints Dogara as member of Atiku campaign council
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) has appointed former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, as a member of the council with “immediate effect”.
A statement issued on Sunday by the Director-General of the council and Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, explained that Dogara’s appointment “is part of our continuous effect in joining hands with our Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to recover our Great Country, Nigeria”.
The Nigerian News reports that Dogara had recently led a group of mainly All Progressives Congress (APC) members of northern extraction to adopt Atiku as their candidate for the 2023 presidential election.
The former lawmaker representing Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency had also condemned the APC’s same-faith ticket of Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima.
