Reno Omokri debunks rumours of his arrest in UK
Reno Omokri, a former media aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, has reacted to reports insinuating that he was arrested by the UK police after leading a protest against the presidential candidate of Nigeria’s ruling party; All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, in London.
TheNigerian News reported that Omokri, an ally of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party candidate for the 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar, led a protest tagged ‘HarrasTinubuOutOfLondon’, on Monday.
Recall that the former Lagos state governor was at Chatham House, London, where he granted audience to the British media on Monday.
There speculations on social media that Reno Omokri was “arrested by the UK police for attempting to disrupt Tinubu’s outing at the Chatham House.
Reacting via his Twitter page on Wednesday, Omokri debunked the rumours saying “For those who have been celebrating, I am so sorry to disappoint you!”
