The team of policemen and hunters-turned-vigilantes were said to have killed the suspects in a gun duel in Moroma hill, in the Mboi district of Song Local Government Area.

During the operation on Thursday night, the team successfully rescued 25-year-old Musa Adamu, 40-year-old Adam Musa, 75-year-old Muhammed Jabbi, and 60-year-old Jauro Ibrahim, all residents of the Local Government Area.

A statement issued by the Command spokesman, Suleiman Nguroje, said the operation was carried out on Thursday.

Nguroje said, “The success followed a strategy designed by the Command to checkmate cases bordering on kidnapping, armed robbery, cattle rustling, unlawful possession of firearms, among others”.

Nguroje explained that upon sighting the police operatives and hunters, the suspects engaged them in a gun duel, as a result of which two of them were killed, while others escaped with bullet wounds.
