Gov Sule signs N149. 3 billion 2023 budget into law
Governor Abdullahi Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has signed an appropriation bill of N149.3 billion for the 2023 fiscal year into law.
During the signing of the appropriation bill at the Government House in Lafia, the governor commended the cordial working relationship with the Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA) for the consideration and speedy passage of the 2023 budget into law.
The 2023 budget was Presented on the floor of the State House of Assembly on November 22, 2022 and passed by the Lawmakers on December 20, 2022.
Governor Sule noted that the lawmakers have demonstrated commitment and patriotism in the development of the state as their partnership would no doubt enhance their collective responsibility into the provision of purposeful leadership.
He stated that the budget, tagged budget of Economic Consolidation and continuity, will allow the government to carry out activities that are not unconnected to the provision of people-oriented programs.
Governor Sule also assured that with the determination to ensure the continuity of government policies and programs, the ongoing political activities will not affect the implementation of government programs.
He further appealed to all the stakeholders and government functionaries who are going to work on the implementation of the budget to work harder to ensure effective implementation for the good of the state.
In his remarks, the Speaker of the State Assembly, Balarabe Abdullahi, who explained that the members of the assembly ensured that the appropriation bill went through legislative processes before it was finally passed, commended the heads of government ministries and parastatals as well as the finance committee of the assembly for the commitment thus far.
H also promised sustained synergy between the legislative and the executive arms of Government in the period ahead for peace, unity, and development of the State.
