Motorist dies inside car while queuing for fuel in Oyo
A yet-to-be-identified motorist has died at a fuel station in Oluyole Estate in the Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State.
According to reports, the man became still and died while queuing up to buy petrol on Thursday.
Other motorists who were scampering to purchase the product were said to observe that the man had passed on, when he couldn’t move his car as the queue progressed.
“The deceased had rested his head on the steering of his car with registration number AKD 878 GP, giving the impression that he was sleeping,” SaharaReporters quoted a source as saying.
“Motorists behind him pressed their car horns to alert him to move forward but there was no movement. This made them come down from their vehicles in order to wake him up. It was at this point that it was discovered that he was unconscious. The incident caused panic among al the motorists and passersby,” the source noted.
The victim’s car was said to have been moved to the nearest police station, while his corpse was deposited in a morgue.
When contacted by journalists, the spokesperson of the Oyo State Police Command, Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the incident saying “case is under investigation. Updates would be provided”
