Igbo Youths Congratulate Orji Kalu On Landslide APC Primary Victory

In anticipation of the 2027 general elections, Igbo youths organized under the Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) have congratulated Senator Orji Uzor Kalu on his resounding victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primaries for Abia North.

The top sociopolitical youth organization in the South East called Kalu’s victory “overwhelming and well-deserved” in a press release that was released right after the primary and signed by the President General and Secretary, Goodluck Ibem and Okey Nworu, respectively. The senator received 65,651 votes, more than his opponent’s 2,103 votes, according to the data reported by COSEYL.
The margin, according to the group, demonstrated the residents’ faith and confidence in Kalu’s representation. COSEYL declared, “The outcome is not just an electoral victory but a resounding endorsement of purposeful leadership, impactful representation, and transformational service delivery.”

The building and renovation of highways in the local government areas of Arochukwu, Ohafia, Bende, Isuikwuato, and Umunneochi were among the projects and initiatives that the group cited as being credited to Kalu. Additionally, it highlighted the construction of solar-powered street lights and rural electrification initiatives, claiming that these had boosted companies and increased security.

COSEYL also highlighted Kalu’s empowerment programs aimed at women, youth, farmers, artisans, and traders. Grants, tricycles, motorbikes, sewing machines, generators, computers, and agricultural inputs were among them. According to the group, the initiatives have improved self-reliance and decreased unemployment in Abia North.

The youth leaders also acknowledged Kalu’s contributions to education, including bursaries, scholarships, and school building and refurbishment.

According to COSEYL, Kalu has continued to draw federal investments and projects to the area in his capacity as Chairman of the Senate Committee on the South East Development Commission.

The group asked the senator to continue serving at his present rate, claiming that the primary results demonstrated that “leadership anchored on performance, compassion, and tangible development will always earn the support and loyalty of the people.”
