Former Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad says the defection of the Kano State Governor into the All Progressives Congress, APC will boost the strength of the ruling party ahead of the 2027 elections.
There are indications that the governor will formerly dump the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP for APC in the coming days.
Reports also suggest that the 2023 presidential candidate of the NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso is also on his way to the ruling party.
In a post on his official Facebook page on Monday, Bashir said negotiations for the governor’s defection has reached an advanced level.
He wrote, “Negotiations have reached advanced stage as Kano state governor, H.E. Abba K. Yusuf prepares a defection that will undeniably boost APC’s strength ahead of 2027 elections”.
