Kabiru Garba Marafa, the former senator for Zamfara Central, has stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will lose more than a million votes in the 2027 presidential election as a result of his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to reports, Surajo Garba Maikatako, the political leader of the Senator Marafa Support Group and chairman of the Supreme Council of the Senator Marafa Group, made the assertion in a statement released in Gusau on Friday.
He claims that since Marafa left the APC, his political base has already been greatly energized, with overwhelming support coming from all around the nation.
According to Maikatako, thousands of supporters have contacted the former senator to show their support and willingness to accompany him on his next political outing.
“I can say with confidence that Senator Marafa’s resignation from the APC has revitalized his political base,” the statement says. Supporters from all over the country have been calling me in droves to show their solidarity and willingness to step up their political involvement with Senator Marafa.
Senator Marafa’s audacious and foretelling declaration that “by the special grace of Almighty Allah (SWT), we will deduct not less than one million votes from the President’s tally in the next general election” should also be reaffirmed. This boast isn’t meaningless. It is a calculated action supported by a dedicated, orderly, and resolute political system. Time will show that we were correct. Those who question this will quickly come to regret undervaluing the influence of a movement focused on people.

His continued popularity, credibility, and the strong faith that people have in his leadership are all evident in this outpouring of support. Numerous well-known people and grassroots visits have reaffirmed their allegiance and stated their willingness to support the new political path that Senator Marafa advocates.
“Senator Marafa and his followers came to the decision to leave the APC together; it wasn’t a personal one. He would never take such a step without the complete support of his devoted followers since he is a leader who appreciates democracy and consultation. He has heard what his followers have to say.
It should also be made abundantly evident that Senator Marafa left the APC because the President had not kept important campaign pledges, most notably the one to eradicate insecurity in Zamfara State. It is important to keep in mind that Senator Marafa was instrumental in delivering Zamfara during his tenure as Mr. President’s State Campaign Coordinator in the general elections of 2023. Regretfully, the President did not act in return for their devotion and fidelity.
