Prior to the 2027 elections, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate in 2023, has stated that his participation in the alliance is centered on combating poverty, hunger, and poor governance.
In response to a query about rumors that he had reached a one-term agreement with Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) 2023 presidential contender, to serve as his vice president in the 2027 elections, Peter Obi made this announcement.
When Atiku and Obi met in the UK early this year, the suggestion was reportedly made, according to many people who talked to Punch.
Obi has accepted to be the former vice president’s running partner, and Atiku has committed to serve a single four-year term, according to the insiders.

Atiku and Obi have reached a consensus, according to a party chieftain, and are currently consulting their supporters.
However, Peter Obi did not confirm or deny making an agreement with Atiku during his remarks at a Kubwa event on Monday during a donation to an Anglican Church-organized school and hospital project.
Peter Obi said that he was dedicated to the coalition’s goal.
“I’m in a coalition against poverty, hunger, and bad governance, but you can make of the report whatever you want,” he remarked.
