Many villagers are presumed dead after a bomb was purportedly launched by a Nigerian Air Force fighter during a Maulud festival in Tudun Biri, a locality in Kaduna State’s Igabi Local Government Area.
Though specifics of the incident are still vague, preliminary estimates indicate that over 30 persons killed in the incident on Sunday, around 9:00 p.m.
According to residents, the device went off while the inhabitants were gathered in the village to remember Maulud.
“They were celebrating Maulud (birth of Prophet Muhammad) when the jet dropped the bomb, resulting in the immediate death of more than 30 people,” stated one eyewitness.
The death toll is expected to rise.

When asked for response, Samuel Aruwan, Overseeing Commissioner of the State Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, stated that the administration would address the media at a press conference at administration House.
“We will address the press at Government House about the situation because there will be a security meeting later.” So, let’s meet at 10 a.m.,” he added.
As of press time, the NAF had yet to comment on the event.
