Taofeek Saula, 57, was charged with assaulting a man with a dangerous weapon and appeared in an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun on Tuesday.

Saula is charged with four counts: assault, conspiracy, intentional damage, and threat to life. Her residence was not disclosed.

Insp. E.O. Adaraloye, the prosecution, informed the court that the defendant and other individuals who are still at large committed the offenses at Anglican Road in Ota, Ogun, sometime in 2007.
According to Adaraloye, the defendant injured the plaintiff, Adebowale Adewale, by attacking him with a deadly weapon during a dispute.

He claimed that the argument started because the defendant had entered the complainant’s property illegally.

Sections 81, 252, 335, and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006, were allegedly violated by the offenses, according to the prosecutor.

However, the defendant entered a not guilty plea to the charge.

The defendant was given N100,000 in bail by the magistrate, Mrs. O. O. Fadairo, along with a corresponding amount for a surety.

According to her, the surety needs to be a gainfully employed individual who resides within the court’s jurisdiction and can provide proof of tax payments to the Ogun government.

For a follow-up hearing, the magistrate postponed the matter until November 19.
