APC Chieftain Obun Challenges Tinubu on Appointment Decisions

Cletus Obun, a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has cautioned President Bola Tinubu to take a backseat, particularly when it comes to appointments.

Obun bemoaned the fact that party members who put in a lot of effort during the previous election to help Tinubu win the presidency were not receiving the proper recognition.

Speaking on Friday’s episode of Channels Television’s Politics Today, the politician said that some individuals are pressuring Tinubu to commit political death.

“Not rewarding your own buddies is a bad tactic. Without a doubt, it would boomerang. It is a flagrant insult to loyalty in a democracy that is yet in its infancy.

“These are real agitations that you are witnessing. The APC has a very subpar reward system. Under Buhari, the APC had the worst incentive system, and this is happening again today.

“A man eats like an ant and works like an elephant.” It’s not right. Since certain attempts are being made to deceive him into believing that people who worked for him in 2023 might not be useful to him in 2027, I’m sure he [Tinubu] has enough time to change his mind on this issue. That is a foolish political suicide attempt to ever do.

“He will be impacted by this direction of not rewarding those who worked, even if they only offered prayers.” Karma exists.
