The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two suspects, Agbo Jeremiah, 34, and Sunday Ngbuta, 29, for alleged vandalism and theft of cable wires and iron rods at Ogunmakin in the Owode Egba area of the state.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed this in a statement seen by TheNigerian Metro on Tuesday stated that suspects were apprehended at about 7 pm on Monday.
Odutola revealed that the arrest was made possible by a driver who conveyed the suspects and the stolen items.
According to her, the driver raised suspicions about the items, leading police officers to flag down the vehicle and search it.
She explained that operatives from the Safer Highway had, earlier that day, reported encountering two individuals carrying rolls of cable wires and iron rods near Macpherson University.
She added that the men’s actions raised suspicions that the wires might be stolen when they asked for help transporting the items.
