According to Ajibola Bashir, a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is a broken institution that is unfit to govern Nigeria.
When Bashir, the APC National Secretary, formally welcomed Nicholas Ossai, a former PDP member, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday, he made this statement.
He claimed that politicians’ excessive ambitions and poor cooperation were to blame for the crisis shaking the opposition.
He characterized the main opposition party as a broken institution that is unfit to govern the nation ever again.
Only the ruling party remains stronger among Nigeria’s political parties, according to the secretary.
He said he doubts any Nigerian politician has exuded hope and support for numerous politicians, and he praised Ossai for recognizing President Bola Tinubu’s accomplishments.

“Our party is still the strongest of all the political parties in Nigeria, and you can see that opposition parties, especially the Peoples Democratic Party, are in serious crisis due to excessive ambitions and improper coordination,” Bashir said.
“Can Nigerians trust a party that can’t even put its house in order to rule the country?” is the query. Therefore, I appreciate you leaving that already-deteriorated building.
Ossai, who represented Delta state’s Ndokwa East/Ndokwa West/Ukwuani on the PDP platform, told reporters following his meeting with Bashir that the center could no longer hold in the PDP since the umbrella had broken.
“The umbrella has broken, the center cannot hold,” he said. When the head is ill, you don’t engage in party politics. I have so joined the APC team that is already influencing Nigeria. PDP has failed today. You inquire as to why it isn’t corrected. therefore the center is unable to hold.
I’m proud to be an APC member today, and I plan to work with the party’s grassroots leadership to ensure that the APC seizes Delta State in 2027.
By God’s grace, the APC will take over my federal constituency, where I have served for 12 years, and first, the House of Assembly in my local government, which I will create.
