The activist, who identifies as the Prime Minister of Biafra, was arrested by Finnish authorities in November 2024. Nigerian authorities have charged him with terrorism and inciting violence through his activities on social media platforms.
Although Ekpa claims ties to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), the group’s leadership has consistently disassociated themselves from his actions and rhetoric.
