Transformation in Apa-Agila: Akpa’Olofu Civic Centre Phase 1 Nears Completion, Phase 2 Set to Launch
Apa-Agila is witnessing a major milestone as Phase 1 of the Akpa’Olofu Civic Centre project approaches completion, setting the stage for the next phase of development.
The project, driven by Hon. Chief Dr. Philip Agbese — who represents Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency and serves as Deputy Spokesman of the 10th House of Representatives — highlights his commitment to advancing grassroots infrastructure.
Fondly known as “Okanga 1 K’Agila” and “Enone Servant,” Hon. Agbese has championed the civic centre as a lasting legacy for the people of Apa-Agila.
Designed to serve a wide range of social, cultural, and economic purposes, the centre is a direct response to the dreams of the community’s founding fathers.
Phase 1, which includes a fully equipped indoor facility, is nearly ready for commissioning. Once opened, it will provide a central space for meetings, ceremonies, and community programs — addressing a long-standing gap in local infrastructure.
Speaking about the project, Hon. Agbese expressed deep gratitude: “This initiative is not merely about constructing a building; it’s about keeping a promise to our people. Phase 1 lays the groundwork for even greater achievements.”
As Phase 1 wraps up, preparations are in motion for Phase 2, which will feature a modern outdoor complex, recreational areas, landscaped spaces, and event grounds.
The expansion is expected to enhance tourism, boost community activities, and engage local youth.
Residents have hailed the civic centre as a game-changer.
“For years, we’ve had to travel elsewhere for big events. Now, we’ll have a world-class facility right here,” said Emmanuel Oche, a youth leader in Apa-Agila.
Hon. Agbese reaffirmed his long-term commitment to development, saying, “This is just the beginning. With God’s help, we’ll continue working until Apa-Agila stands as a model of progress and unity.”
With the Akpa’Olofu Civic Centre taking shape, Apa-Agila is set to enter a new era of pride, prosperity, and collective achievement.
