In the heart of Nigeria’s Enone Constituency—comprising Ado, Ogbadibo, and Okpokwu Federal Constituency—a new wave of development and political transformation is taking root, led by Chief (Dr.) Philip Agbese, Deputy Spokesman of the House of Representatives.

Transformative Leadership in Enone

Since assuming office, Dr. Philip Agbese has redefined leadership through a strategic, people-centered approach. His track record includes transformative infrastructure projects across nearly all 35 wards of the constituency, each reflecting a blend of cultural heritage and developmental foresight.

Honouring Legacies Through Infrastructure

A unique hallmark of Dr. Agbese’s development agenda is the naming of key projects after past and present iconic leaders from the region. This approach not only preserves the legacies of these great individuals but also fosters a deep sense of identity and pride among the people.

  • In Ogbadibo, a modern healthcare facility now bears the name of the late Ochi’Idoma IV, Chief Elias Ekoyi Obekpa.

  • In Ado, another healthcare project commemorates Chief Dr. Edwin Ogbu, a respected former Ochi’Idoma and statesman.

  • An educational institution is named after Chief David Attah, further embedding local legacies into community development.

  • Road construction in Apa has been dedicated to Chief Onazi Agbese, exemplifying strategic infrastructure investment in rural areas.

A crown jewel of Dr. Agbese’s initiatives is the Akpa’Olofu Civic Centre, located in Apa-Agila, Apa LGA. This modern facility is named in honour of Chief Barr. John Agbaji Attah Ochoga (LIFE Bencher)—a living legal icon and community pillar. The centre is envisioned as a hub for civic dialogue, cultural expression, and rural inclusion.

With its state-of-the-art amenities, the Akpa’Olofu Civic Centre bridges tradition with modernity, showcasing the essence of rural revitalization and grassroots empowerment.

Inclusive Education Projects Underway

In alignment with his vision for educational development, five new blocks of six classrooms each—complete with furniture—are under construction across:

  • Okpoga

  • Otukpa

  • Ojigo

  • Ijigban

  • Apa-Agila

Each school will be named after outstanding sons and daughters of Enone, ensuring their contributions are immortalized for generations to come.

A New Era for Enone Constituency

Through these people-focused projects, Dr. Philip Agbese has reinforced a powerful message: inclusive governance and legacy-driven development are not only possible—they are essential. In Enone today, democracy is not a distant idea, it is a lived and visible reality—touching the lives of those in the most remote communities.
