The PDP’s National Working Committee has convened an emergency meeting at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

The meeting, which is currently being held behind closed doors on Tuesday, comes in the wake of a surge of defections from the opposition party’s ranks and strongholds, as well as persistent internal difficulties affecting the PDP.

According to reports, Ifeanyi Okowa, the former vice-presidential candidate for the PDP, and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) last week.
