A prosecuting witness revealed on Friday that Simon Ekpa, the self-proclaimed Prime Minister of Biafra, will shortly be deported from Finland to Nigeria.
According to the Federal Government’s testimony, Ekpa will be extradited to stand prosecution for aiding Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The witness, named only as “AAA” and a DSS staff member, made the disclosure while being cross-examined by Kanu’s main attorney, Chief Kanu Agabi, at the Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice James Omotosho.
The witness was part of the crew that apprehended Kanu on October 15, 2015, at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Lagos.
He added that Ekpa had already been arrested and was facing extradition for his support of IPOB and “inciting violence.”
The witness further stated that no weapons or implements of violence were discovered in Kanu’s possession at the time of his detention in 2015.

He further stated that the woman found in Kanu’s hotel room was not a suspect because she met the defendant through social media.
“The lady was found to be innocent,” the witness stated.
Following the hearings, Justice Omotosho scheduled the trial until May 6, 7, and 8, 2025.
The IPOB leader is currently on trial on terrorism-related offenses.
