On Wednesday, May 7, Aliyu Zubairu, the head coach of the Flying Eagles, has stated his team’s unwavering resolve to defeat Kenya.
In 2025, the Flying Eagles will play their last Group B match at the Africa Under-20 Cup of Nations. The Air Defence Stadium in Cairo will host it on June 30.
As they continue their quest for a record-breaking ninth continental title, a victory will advance Zubairu and his team to the next round of the competition.
The seven-time champions were held to a painful 0-0 draw by Morocco in their last game, meaning they now sit in second position in the group with four points from two games played.
It is crucial that the Flying Eagles win all three points against Kenya, who are sitting at the bottom of the group with no points, because these draws put them under more strain.
Zubairu said following the draw with Morocco, “We will approach the game against Kenya with optimism and confidence.”

“They are still a strong team, even though they have had difficulty in this tournament, and we must show them the highest respect.” To guarantee that we earn the three points required for our progression to the quarterfinals, we will concentrate on staying intent.
As everything was going on, Flying Eagles captain Daniel Bameyi took stock of the team’s tense draw with Morocco and acknowledged the difficulties they encountered throughout play.
In the first half, the squad showed off their skills and established their domination, but the Moroccans rallied and took control of most of the second half, which led to a tense scenario on the field.
“I think the result accurately reflects the battle we faced, and it was a very competitive and intense match,” Bameyi said, praising both his teammates and the opposition. For the point we earned, we must give thanks to God. Our morale needed it as we got ready for the pivotal game against Kenya.
