Sir Paul Chukwuma, the YPP’s candidate for governor of Anambra state in the November 8, 2025, election, has criticized Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, the state governor, for the state’s students’ subpar performance on the recently released National Examination Council (NECO) and Join Administration and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exams.
Anambra State, which had topped the national rating for over ten years in a row, was abruptly ranked 28th in the recently revealed results, which Cancel Chukwuma bemoaned.
In an announcement Monday, the YPP candidate for governor stated, “Today, we have seen a shocking decline in some of the key indicators of development in our State.”

The current leadership in Anambra State has led this gain to wither. The state was formerly the leader in education for more than ten years.
“Today, Anambra State’s education rating has drastically declined, to the point where our state now lags behind Abia, Imo, and Ebonyi States in terms of student performance.” Under the current administration, Anambra State has seen such a deterioration that it is no longer able to be listed among the top states in the country and the region for pupils who received five credits on their senior certificate exam. It hasn’t been this bad in more than ten years.
It’s a fragmented promise.” The gain is now gone. As a people, we see it as a warning sign for our state and our children’s future,” Sir Chukwuma continued.
However, if elected, Chukwuma promised that his government would undo the regrettable trend.
