On March 18, President Bola Tinubu sent a letter to the Senate outlining the nominations for the new RECs.

The letter states, “I am pleased to forward for confirmation by the senate the appointment of the following five (5) nominees as Resident Electoral Commissioners in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in accordance with the provision of section 154(1) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended) constitution.”

The Honorable Senate is asked to take note of this letter, which replaces my previous one dated March 12th, tagged pres134/2. It is the result of my evaluation and approval of the Borno State commissioner’s reappointment for a second term.
