The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has confirmed the successful airlift of more than 14,000 Nigerian pilgrims from Saudi Arabia as part of the 2025 Hajj return operations. The Commission said the exercise reflects its commitment to a smooth and efficient Hajj process for all Nigerian pilgrims.
According to updates from the NAHCON Command and Control Centre in Makkah, a Flynas flight (XY9082) departed Jeddah for Sokoto at 07:51 hrs (local time), carrying 422 Sokoto pilgrims along with 4 officials. This brought the total number of pilgrims airlifted to 13,589 across 32 flights. Later the same day, another Flynas flight (XY9022) left Jeddah for Abuja at 10:33 hrs, transporting 425 pilgrims from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and 4 officials. These efforts brought the total number of pilgrims airlifted to 14,014 on 33 completed flights.
NAHCON emphasized its dedication to delivering a seamless Hajj experience. “Our commitment to a smooth Hajj airlift remains unwavering. We are steadily progressing in conveying all Nigerian pilgrims to the Holy Land for their spiritual journey,” the Commission stated via its official X platform.
The agency continues to closely monitor flight operations from its Makkah control centre, working in partnership with airlines and relevant authorities to ensure the safety and timely transportation of all Nigerian pilgrims.
