Ndoma-Egba Commends Teachers for Their Role in National Development

The Distinguished Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, SAN, Pro-Chancellor/Chairman of the Governing Council of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), has praised the institution’s professors and educators worldwide for their vital contributions to the development of the country.

On this year’s World instructors’ Day, the FUOYE Pro-Chancellor celebrated the university’s lecturers and instructors by releasing a statement in which he recognized and valued the important contributions they make to both social and national development.

My sincere admiration is sent to the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) faculty on this World Teachers’ Day, as well as to educators worldwide. It is you who are the keepers of wisdom, the guardians of morality, and the designers of an unbuilt future. Your commitment, hard work, and intelligence are the foundation of our society.

The best definition of education goes beyond giving lectures, taking tests, or receiving certificates. The intentional development of discipline, the dissemination of ideals, and the creation of vision are all part of it. It forges a commitment to service, creates a sense of purpose, and develops leaders who actively contribute to the progress of society rather than merely inheriting it. Real education enables students to clearly analyze problems, bravely confront them, and come up with long-lasting, socially important answers. Every lecture, thesis, and student funded is a calculated investment in human capital, national growth, and our shared destiny on a global scale. “A former Senate Leader said,” Ndoma-Egba said.

“This year’s theme, ‘Recasting teaching as a collaborative profession,’ calls us to recognize that education thrives in community,” he continued on. Sharing information increases knowledge, collaboration fosters creativity, and collaboration among educators across disciplines, institutions, and countries is the only way to ensure development. Working together is what makes a difference and keeps education inclusive, egalitarian, and resilient. We must work together to transform FUOYE into a globally renowned university—one where wisdom is generated by knowledge, where our creativity and research are motivated by a dedication to improving society, and where integrity and character define leadership.

“I understand that the burden you bear is heavy and frequently necessitates sacrifice without instant acknowledgment. Your offices, labs, libraries, and lecture halls, however, are where the future is built. I certify, as Pro-Chancellor, that your efforts are not inconspicuous. Valued and essential, it is the real indicator of our institutional power. Working with the university’s administration to create and maintain an atmosphere where teachers can flourish, professional development is valued, contributions are acknowledged, and excellence is expected is something I’m still dedicated to doing.

I commend you once more for your tenacity, intelligence, and dedication to the honorable profession of teaching. I hope your work keeps changing lives, improving scholarship, and making our university, our country, and the globe proud.
