Malam Nasir El-Rufai, a former governor of Kaduna State, has encouraged Zamfara State citizens to become members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as part of larger initiatives to address the state’s and the nation’s growing security and economic issues.
The former All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain reportedly made the appeal on Sunday, November 9, while speaking to ADC supporters in Gusau. During his speech, he presented the party’s plan for boosting food production in Zamfara, stabilizing the economy, and enhancing security.
The former governor urged party members to stick together and refrain from taking any steps that would jeopardize the party’s advancement.
In order to increase grassroots knowledge of ADC’s programs, he also emphasized the necessity of working with youth and women’s organizations.
In advance of the 2027 elections, he urged locals to get their Permanent Voter’s Cards ready.
El-Rufai’s visit, according to Abubakar Atiku, the Deputy National Organizing Secretary of the ADC, is a significant boost to current efforts to improve internal collaboration and stability among members in Zamfara.
The event drew ladies and young people from all 14 local government districts in the state, according to State ADC Chairman Alhaji Kabiru Garba, who also noted that the party is still expanding and gaining new members.
Local politicians, Islamic scholars, and community stakeholders also attended the event and expressed interest in the ADC’s goals for inclusive governance, economic revitalization, and security in Zamfara.
