Bandits broke into their village and abducted the catechist and his expectant wife, along with thirty other people, according to Rev. Fr. Linus Matthew Bobai, the parish priest of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kadarko Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
Bobai said this on Wednesday when answering questions during an Arise Television interview.
He emphasizes that there is tension in the town and that many residents have fled for their life.
Sincerely, following the attack, a few troops from the nearby town moved around and eventually we spotted them returning. That’s all.
We have a disability. More than 98% of residents have fled to a nearby village, indicating that tensions are high in the community. Those of us who spent yesterday’s night in the village are not quite forty.
Numerous individuals left this evening due to fear and other factors. We are tense. Some of us are scared, but since we are pastors, we are unable to flee. We urged a few others to remain and care for the community,” the priest remarked.
