Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, would have defected if he was now serving his first term, according to Babajide Kolade-Otitoju, Director of News at Television Continental (TVC).
Otitoju reportedly made this statement on TVC’s “Breakfast Show” on Friday while discussing the PDP crisis and defections that have shaken the party.
He emphasized that two judges had prevented Makinde’s team from convening the PDP’s National Convention in Ibadan last November, calling it a waste of time.
Otitoju went on to say that if Makinde had been in his first term, his second term would have been in jeopardy because he would have deserted to another party, such as the “dancing governor.”
“People must show good judgment at a critical phase,” he stated. What was the purpose of that convention? Despite being advised not to proceed by two courts, you proceeded.
“Even if I don’t like former Senate President Bukola Saraki, I will be the first to acknowledge anything he says that makes sense. When he said, “Let’s go for caretaker,” he made sense. Why don’t you listen to him?
“Later on, you will be yelling that the ruling party is to blame for your crisis, even though you are the one who created your own bad luck. This issue was brought about by you.
“Makinde would have run away like the dancing governor if he had been in his first term because his second term would have been in jeopardy.”
